How do
we keep
this going?
The problem with most conferences is not what happens in the room. It is what disappears after people leave.
Write Your Future is an immersive keynote and letter-writing experience designed to help participants convert the emotion of a gathering into personal intention, future action, and long-term reflection.
Through a guided writing experience, participants write two pieces: a short message for their immediate future, and a letter to themselves one year from now. Dear World stewards those letters for the year and returns them to the writer — creating a powerful bridge between one gathering and the next.

Continuity

The history, science,
and human power — of writing to yourself.
In Write Your Future, Robert X. Fogarty explores the history, science, and human power of writing to oneself. Drawing on Dear World's experience helping people articulate meaningful personal stories, Fogarty guides participants through a structured intention-setting process rooted in reflection, narrative, and commitment.
Participants are invited to pause, consider who they are becoming, and write directly to their future selves. The experience can include postcards written for the near future, letters sealed for one year, and an optional portrait or content activation that captures the commitment being made in the room.
Unlike a typical closing keynote, Write Your Future gives attendees a ritual. It helps them name what they want to remember, what they want to practice, and who they want to become after the conference ends.
"Letters written this year,
returned the next."
Dear Future Self,
Today I sat in a room with people I work with, and for the first time in a long while I stopped to ask who I'm actually becoming.
I want to remember the way it felt. I want to keep practicing the thing I said I'd practice. I want to be the version of myself I wrote about — not the version I drift into when I'm tired.
By the time you read this, a year will have passed.
I hope you kept your word.
Signed
You
Return
+ 1 Year
Five moves
across twelve months.
For annual meetings, retreats, and values-driven gatherings, the ritual becomes recurring — the bridge between this year and the next.
- 01
Pause
A guided keynote opens the room. Participants step out of agenda-mode and into reflection — invited to consider who they're becoming.
- 02
Write — Near
A short postcard for the immediate future. What to remember, what to practice, what to do on Monday.
- 03
Write — One Year
A second letter, sealed, addressed to the writer one year from now.
- 04
Steward
Dear World holds the letters for the year. Nothing happens to them. They just wait.
- 05
Return
One year later — or the next annual gathering — the letter comes back. The conversation between past and future self begins.

04

A meaningful piece of mail that arrives months — or a year — later.
05

Inspiration
→ action.
Four moments.
One ritual across the year.
Designed to live before, during, and after the gathering — and to return as a recurring tradition for annual events.
